The Serra do Conduru State Park, created in 1997 between the municipalities of Ilhéus, Uruçuca and Itacaré, is a mixture of remnants of the original Atlantic Forest and abandoned areas that need restoration. In partnership with the Public Ministry of the State of Bahia, IFV works to reforest these degraded lands. Between 2014 and 2015, IFV planted (click here to see completed actions) 100,000 seedlings along 100 hectares of land. Among the native species chosen are Aroeira, Imbiruçu, Juerana-do-litoral, Pequi-preto and Ingá-pau. Areas were replanted in 2016 and are now maintained by the IFV team.
